“American Idol” confirmed its comeback for a new season.
On Tuesday, the “American Idol” Twitter page tweeted their announcement of the new season.
“Get ready to sing along with us for another season!” the tweet read.
This will be the seventh season of the show on ABC and its 22nd season overall. The series ran on FOX for 15 years before ending in 2016.
The announcement also comes amid the anticipation of the season 21 finale on Sunday, which will showcase the top three finalists’ fight for the title of “American Idol.”
Colin Stough, Iam Tongi and Megan Danielle are all expected to compete.
Season 21 of “American Idol” airs every Sunday and Monday at 8 p.m. Eastern on ABC.
