Three $100,000 lottery prizes were won from stores across Massachusetts on Friday, including a Pride gas station and a Roche Bros.
One of the lucky Massachusetts State Lottery players won their $100,000 award from a “Millions” ticket bought at the Pride gas station and store in Holyoke. The other two $100,000 winners won their prizes from the “Mass Cash” game, buying their winning tickets from the Roche Bros. in Natick and 6-Twelve Convenience in South Boston.
When playing “Millions,” the odds of winning $100,000, the third-highest award in the scratch-off lottery game, are one in 72,000. The probability of scoring the top prize in the game, $15 million, are much lower, one in 6.048 million, according to the State Lottery’s website.
For “Mass Cash,” the odds of winning $100,000, the highest award in the betting lottery game, are one in 324,632, according to the State Lottery’s website.
The winners of the three $100,000 prizes Friday were not the only lucky lottery players in the commonwealth as of late. A Big Y in Greenfield sold a winning $1 million lottery scratch ticket, and the winner claimed their prize Wednesday. Another $1 million lottery winner, who claimed their prize the same day, bought their winning ticket from a liquor store in East Boston.
Outside of Massachusetts, a lucky lottery player in Maine won the jackpot in the “Mega Millions” game in January, scoring the monumental $1.35 billion top prize that had been accumulating since October 2022. The win marks the first time the jackpot has been won in the Pine Tree State. The winner bought their ticket at a gas station in Lebanon.
Every day, the State Lottery releases a list of all the winning tickets that are worth more than $600 in Massachusetts. Overall, there were 777 winning lottery tickets worth at least $600 sold in the state Friday, including 29 in Springfield, 39 in Worcester and 75 in Boston.
The largest lottery prize scored in the commonwealth last year was worth $16.35 million and won from the “Megabucks Doubler” game. The winning ticket was bought at the Cumberland Farms in Ware, marking the fourth $15 million prize won in the commonwealth in 2022.
