Authorities have identified the woman in her 50s who was killed in the crash on Interstate 495 in Bellingham earlier this week.
Jane Middleton, the 53-year-old Holliston woman, was declared dead at the site of the single-vehicle crash at mile marker 47 on I-495 southbound in Bellingham on Thursday, according to a statement from Massachusetts State Police.
State police troopers responded to 911 calls about the crash around 6 p.m. and discovered Middleton suffering from life-threatening injuries in a 2015 Chevrolet Silverado. She was the only person in the truck, the statement said.
For reasons still under investigation, authorities detailed, the Silverado had driven off the right side of the highway a mile before Exit 46, rolled onto its side and come to a final rest in the woods bordering the interstate. Emergency medical crews gave aid to Middleton, but she eventually died at the crash scene.
Members of the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner and state police responded to the scene to investigate the crash. Troopers were also helped by the Bellingham Fire Department, according to law enforcement.
