Fredi Rubio, of Sterling, won his $2 million prize playing the “$2,000,000 50X Cashword” scratch ticket game. Rubio purchased his ticket from Appletown Market in Sterling.

Rubio chose the cash option for his prize, and received a one-time payment of $1.3 million before taxes.

Appleton Market will receive a $20,000 bonus for the sale of the winning ticket.

On the Wednesday Rubio claimed his ticket, there were seven other scratch ticket winners in the state, with each of the other prizes totaling $100,000.

One of the seven $100,000 prizes was also won from a scratch ticket, but for the “Millions” game. The winning ticket was sold from Express Mart in Plymouth.

The remaining six prizes, each worth $100,000, were won from Wednesday night’s Mass Cash drawing. Mass Cash is a numbers game where players can choose five numbers ranging from 1-35 for their ticket. Drawings are daily at 9 p.m., and the lottery player must match all five numbers on their ticket to win $100,000.

If they match four numbers, they win $250, and if three are matched, the prize is $10.

The overall odds of the game are 1 in 72, according to the Massachusetts State Lottery, and tickets are $1.

The winning tickets were sold at San Juan Market in Boston, Donovan’s Liquors in Lawrence, Big Y Express in South Hadley, Kev’s Kwik Market in Waltham and two were sold from the same store, Bob’s Famous Foodmart and Discount Liquors, in Stoughton.

Overall, there were 517 winning lottery tickets worth at least $600 sold in Massachusetts on Wednesday, including 11 in Springfield and 24 in Worcester.

The Massachusetts State Lottery releases a full list of all the winning tickets each day. The list only includes winning tickets worth more than $600.

The largest lottery prize won in Massachusetts this year was worth $16.35 million, which was part of the game Megabucks Doubler. It was purchased at Cumberland Farms in Ware. There were also three $15 million prizes won in the commonwealth this year.
