Jordan Westburg hit a pair of two-run homers and Jacob Nottingham added a two-run shot as the Norfolk Tides defeated the Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp 6-3 on Wednesday in Florida in the completion of a series opener suspended by rain Tuesday night.
The Tides (54-63) have won three of four, while the Jumbo Shrimp (62-56) have dropped five of six.
Norfolk led 2-1 when the game was suspended in the fourth inning. Westburg’s first homer came in the third and opened the scoring. Jacksonville got a run back in the bottom of the third on Jordan Groshans’ sacrifice fly.
When play resumed Wednesday, Westburg hit his second homer — and 12th as a Tide — in the top of the fifth to make it 4-1.
Nottingham’s homer in the seventh — his 13th this season — made it 6-1. Nottingham finished with three of Norfolk’s 10 hits.

Tides starter Chris Vallimont allowed a run on three hits in three innings. DL Hall (3-6) was the second reliever to enter the game and he picked up the victory with two scoreless innings that included four strikeouts.
The teams were set to play a seven-inning game as the regularly scheduled contest later Wednesday night.
